November 28th, 2010 Lots o' Stuff
Today is my birthday, it's the big 21 for me. I also share this great day with the great Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who portrayed Ramona Flowers in the totally awesome movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Oh, and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn comes out at midnight tonight. Finally!

October 8th, 2010 iTunes 10...
is absolutely horrible.

July 14th, 2010 Natural Selection 2 Alpha Incoming!
It's finally on it's way! Natural Selection 2's alpha will be released to those who preordered the special edition of the game on Monday, July 26th. It's not feature complete, but I am definitely going to be playing that as soon as I can to try to whip that game into shape. By the way, that black armored marine is only offered to those who are getting the special edition, which will be discontinued the day the alpha is released.
It's finally here!

July 12th, 2010 Three Red Lights
My 2nd Xbox 360 has finally bit the dust. I've had this unit since late 2007ish and it really has been going strong for a while, long enough so that I felt it actually wasn't going to break! Unfortunately that was not the case and I'll be going a few weeks without my console. I wouldn't mind if the unit I receive happens to have an HDMI port on the back...
Still paying attention to Natural Selection 2 news, however it's been a bit slow lately. Hopefully we'll see something cool (dynamic infestation please!!) from that team soon.

July 10th, 2010 Tons of work finally done...
I finally just now finished work on a bit of a summer project with this site. I finally can manage the news page without having to touch any PHP at all!
Thanks to the roommates for help with debugging.

May 16th, 2010 PHP is back!
The files section of the website is back on PHP! And it's better implemented then ever before.
Band of the moment: Dream Theater.

May 15th, 2010 School's finally done (for now)
I finally have put a wrap to the spring semester of school. I'll be taking a break this summer, but then in the fall I'll be right back to college. Hopefully some site work is to come...

April 1st, 2010 JavaScript!
There have been a few neat site advancements done over the past few days. Turns out JavaScript is actually very cool.

March 25th, 2010 School is ever ongoing.
Computer science has gotten pretty rough this semester. Well, at least in 1 class it has. My advanced data structures course (which primarily focuses on Java) has been real hard so far and is only ramping up as time goes on (I'm actually working on an assignment right now!). A quick notice for those of you who were taught to use jGRASP, if you are moving onto any more advanced coding than that introductory Java class, than please take a look at the Eclipse IDE.
Bands of the moment: Revocation and The Human Abstract (Nocturne only plz).
Still waiting on Natural Selection 2...

January 29th, 2010 Ho hum
A new year, a new update.
I'm currently taking a web development course at SELU so I might be giving the website some kind of a new look soon.
On the games side of things Unknown Worlds has been putting out weekly Natural Selection 2 SDK updates. Unfortunately I haven't practiced too much with the editor yet though but maybe someday.
And one more thing, a few weeks back I saw Between the Buried and Me headlining and it was definitely an amazing concert. White walls!

December 28th, 2009 Paul Thurrott's "Simple vs. Easy"
This article is mainly being posted here so I can easily retrieve it later, but it is an extremely good and well written read about software interface design.

December 25th, 2009 Merry Christmas
...And a happy new year!
In other news, I have done almost nothing with the Spark editor. Yep... So back into hibernation I go!

November 23rd, 2009 Spark Level Editor
Oh geeze I've been waiting on this for so long. Natural Selection 2's Spark Level Editor has finally been released to those who have preordered the game. Preliminary thoughts from me are that it is very different from Hammer, and it is also very much still alpha (I've had at least 2 crashes already!!). Hopefully I'll have some pictures of my progress to show soon.

October 30th, 2009 Natural Selection 2 Screenshots
Announced in an email (which is readable in this forum post) Unknown Worlds Entertainment will be showing off the first in-game screenshots of Natural Selection 2 at some time today! They also announced in a Gamasutra interview that the tools will be (hopefully!) released sometime next month. This news will definitely be keeping me up. I'll be editing this post once I have a link to the announced screenshots. I'll be editing this news post once the screenshots are shown.
Edit: And the screenshots have been finally posted! Check them out at the NS2 Blog. The lerk made its first appearance here, marines are shown firing at skulks, and even the familiar "in the mouth" skulk view model can be seen.

October 26th, 2009 I need some Marketplace Points!
I just found out today that one of the most incredible games of my younger years is being ported / updated to the Xbox 360 Arcade later this year. And it's Perfect Dark! This will be an absolutely amazing game, and it will finally do the original title (that aged very poorly) much more justice than the tripe that was Perfect Dark Zero.

October 19th, 2009 Progression...
Well this semester is moving along at a brisk pace. Lots of things to look forward to this fall, mostly games of course, but who can forget the weather too? Louisiana sure gets awfully hot and I'm more than ready for a change in that regard.
But question of the month: will Natural Selection 2's alpha come out on the 31st? We'll have to see...

September 7th, 2009 Goldfish Coldfish
My first semester as a sophomore is going alright so far. Unfortunately my schedule is riddled with breaks so I don't have many opportunities to visit the campus gym, but everything else is going alright. Sixteen hours a week with Friday off isn't so bad!
My friend Rapier7 has been very frequently posting editorials on his site and they're usually worth a good read. Well I can't give him too much credit but he's going through that pseudointellectual stage right now, you know?
And where are my NS2 tools‽

July 23rd, 2009 Google Voice!
So the other day I finally got a brand new Google Voice invite. Either me signing up for their reservation list worked or the voicemail I left them for the competition was funny enough to grant me an invite. Which I really hope it was the competition that hooked me up. But anyway I probably won't be able to use it very much until I get a Palm Pre. Which won't be on Verizon until the end of the year unfortunately...
In other news both Muse and Between the Buried and Me will each have a new album out relatively soon. And the former will even have a concert soon in my area! And with the fall's lineup of games incoming quickly, this year is looking to be a good one for sure.

July 13th, 2009 Whoa
Sitemap!

July 5th, 2009 Nice1
Summer classes are about halfway done. Once they're over I'll be having a short break and then will hopefully be hitting the ground running for the fall semester. Where's my NS2 map editor?

June 4th, 2009 Another E3 (come and gone!)
With Golden Sun DS announced, this E3 is practically a dream come true, however that's not to say it's the only thing I'm looking forward to. Nintendo impressed me overall except for a few hickups like the vitality sensor and Wii Motion Plus. But with a New Super Mario Bros. for Wii and a wild looking Metroid game, that console will finally see its first use since Brawl. And you can't forget about the new Mario & Luigi game for the DS, which is also definitely a must buy.
Microsoft also impressed me with it's always steady lineup. Project Natal I'm not too worried about, but with the new Assassin's Creed, two new Halo games, and Left 4 Dead 2 (which I will probably buy the for PC)... I'm game.
And to add to that, who can forget about my previous news post regarding NS2? That's also due out this year. Needless to say, I have some time of unproductivity ahead of me.

May 14th, 2009 Eurasia
I'm going to be in Europe for the next two weeks. It'll be a pretty awesome trip, to cruise for 10 days around all kinds of foreign countries!
I'll update again on my return.

April 29th, 2009 Update flurry!
In an unheard of flurry of activity from me, I have just now finished fixing all of the recently broken php.
Now I'll take this moment to go ahead and pimp ns_stargate-nova one more time...

April 18th, 2009 New Site? (ScootrNova.net!)
Well now I've finally gone and done what I've been wanting to do for ages, and that is make the move to ScootrNova from ScootGaming. ScootGaming is no longer my site as of yesterday, and GoDaddy will have probably put their hands all over that domain by now. Anyway, the site will probably remain just as undeveloped and untouched as ever. Nothing much to see here anytime soon.

January 26th, 2009 Woo...
Captain's Night '09!

August 9th, 2008 Shzock deBest
Pretty much just get the new Metallica CD. I got it for Guitar Hero, pretty neat stuff.

July 19th, 2008 The Dark Knight
I normally don't make posts like this but this movie was incredible. Definitely one of my favorite movies ever. Seriously please go see this movie, and if you think it can't measure up to the original, Batman Begins hardly even holds a candle to this. Heath Ledger definitely went out with a bang. And to think that I once thought that super hero movies were for the kids...

A reminder - ns_stargate-nova_r1 has been available for download for a couple of weeks now. Don't forget to download it! And one thing I forgot to mention on the front page of my site already, the map is open source.

More news is that I will be starting college in mid August. Crazy I know. I can't wait to be in an apartment with my best friend though!

July 2nd, 2008 ns_stargate-nova
I Have finally released a "new" map. It's a sequal to the nsa and g4b2s variations of stargate, but it's much much better. I'm actually happy with it this time, I tried to change everything that bothered me, unlike before when I often let things slide. Go download it over in the Features section of the website!

April 6th, 2008 My Portfolio
Finally a micro-update. Over in the features section of my site I just now added my portfolio and it's basically just a big compilation of all my maps. Nothing really special here, but it also includes my mariokart gorge race map as well as several marine vs marine levels from long long ago. Site might go down soon too by the way! Godaddy needs some money... :/

In other news, school is almost out and I'll be on to college later this year. Yeah, pretty neat stuff.

December 11th, 2007 :D!
Hey hey hey! My birthday was on November 28th. I'm 18 now. Cool? ( Y / N )

October 22nd, 2007 Finished!
Finished up the site design! Only things really though that I needed to finalize was the Files / Counter Strike section. And a few code fixes in features. But that's all for now! I might be hardcorizing a few other things on the site, making it much more personalized to me rather than like ScootGaming as a company sort of thing. See ya!

October 15th, 2007 New Site!
Hey guys! Finally made the transition to this new site! Hopefully it should provide a much cleaner look and give me more flexibility for any future projects.
